WHENEVER!

Date: Jun 25, 2024 Whenever.  Whenever the sky turns to a twilight hue, And the stars emerge in their silent grace, I ponder the realms where souls renew, Beyond the bounds of time and space. Whenever the wind whispers through the trees, Carrying secrets from realms unseen, I dream of a place where spirits are free, In a world beyond the in-between. Whenever I see one killing another, I think of the life that follows strife, A realm of peace where none suffer, The life after this life. Whenever I see one undermining another, I think of a world with no need for might, Where all are equal, each a sister or brother, The life after this life. Whenever I see one abusing another, Because of appearance, race, or color, I dream of a place where souls discover, They are colorless, race less, pure as light. "Obulamu buno nga buvuddeko" Whenever the dawn breaks the night's embrace, Unveiling the day with tender light, I sense a journey to a serene place, Where souls find rest, bath...

The Struggling Sinner

Date: Jun 18, 2024 The Struggling Sinner by SSEKAYIBA BENJAMIN In shadows deep, where sorrow lingers, A heart once pure, now stained by fingers Of choices made in moments weak, A soul's redemption yet to seek. He walks the path of twilight's grace, A weary mask upon his face, With burdens heavy, sins confessed, In search of solace, peaceful rest. He bows his head, confesses sin, Then rises, strives to start again. But shadows creep, and he’s ensnared, The cycle starts, he’s unprepared. In quiet prayers, his spirit bends, Very easy for him to fall off the lane of holiness, But struggles to find his way back, To find a way where darkness ends. A journey fraught with thorns and pain, ...

The Burdened Believer

The burdened believer In a chapel, silent, still, A soul seeks solace, breaks its will. Knees on cold stone, hands entwined, Prayers rise, a heart defined.   Whispers of grace, a plea for peace, In this sacred place, burdens release. Eyes closed tight, seeking light, In the quiet of the night.   From lips, the words do flow, Faith and hope in fervent glow. A yearning heart, a whispered plea, “God, grant me serenity.”   Amen murmured, echoes fade, A soul uplifted, promises made. Steps retrace, out the door, Into the world, grace restored.   But when asked, “How are you?” A sigh escapes, old worries accrue. Complaints and woes spill like rain, Despite the prayer, despite the gain.       “Oh, the burdens,” they declare, Forgetting the peace found in prayer. A heart that seeks, yet cannot see, The blessings granted, the soul set free.   In the quiet chapel, grace bestowed, But in daily life, the weight still sowed. A reminder needed, gentle, tr...
