Two thieves on crosses, a scene profound, In their choices, a truth is found. One in despair, the other in grace, In their final moments, they found their place. On crosses raised, on Calvary’s hill, Two men hung, their fates fulfilled. Beside the Savior, they bore their pain, Two thieves, their stories in shadows lain. One mocked and scorned, his heart unbound, In bitterness, his voice did resound. “Save yourself and us!” he cried, With hardened heart, he stayed denied. But the other, humbled and contrite, Recognized truth in the fading light. “Lord, remember me,” he pled, Grace-filled words before he bled. To him, the Savior turned His face, Assured him of eternal grace. “Today, in paradise, we will meet,” Words of comfort, oh, so sweet. Two thieves, two choices stark and clear, One in faith, one in doubt and fear. A lesson for all, on that sacred day, The power of redemption in the words they would say. Inspired by Luke 23:32-43.
